If anyone wants to forward my response to the CBS stupid story to another group, please use this copy.  Thanks.

My response to CBS:

OK, Mr. Terrorist, please choose your option:

Overloaded maximum “explosive payload” potentials:

120 lb.  Human carried backpack  (training?  You’ve gotta be kidding!)

350 lb.  Challenger “ultralight” 2-place  (one week training, minimum)

400 lb.  Cessna 152  (one week training, minimum)

800 lb.  Cessna 172 or Piper Cherokee (one week training, minimum)

1,500 lb.  Minivan  (NO training required)

1,800 lb.  Cessna 421C twin commuter or corporate plane (at least a month of training required)

2,000 lb.  Pickup truck or big SUV (used $2,000-new $30,000?)  (NO training required)

Ryder Panel van rental? $100?  (NO training required)

2,500 lb.  TV station camera van (NO training required)

4,000 lb.  Beechcraft Kingair B200  (?$1,000,000?)  (extensive training required)

10,000-20,000 lb.  Ryder Citivan (rental ?$100?)  (NO training required)

10,000-40,000 lb.  TV network media van/truck (depends on model)  (NO training required)

33,000-40,000 Ryder Straight Diesel Truck (rental ? $200 ?)  (NO training required)

45,000-60,000 Semi trailer truck  (cost and availability?)  (1-2 hours training required)

198,000 lb. FEDEX 767 (which is also “General Aviation” just like a Cessna 152)

(extensive training required)

So, just how threatening is privately owned light general aviation?
