Unfortunately,
I discovered intergranular corrosion on the lower spar cap on an Alon
A2A.  I need to ask if anyone has a front beam in airworthy condition for
sale, and if so what price?

 

If not, has
anyone recently bought a front spar and if so, how much did you have to pay for
it?

 

Lastly, has
anyone replaced only the spar cap? If so were they jig drilled at the factory?

 

My reason for
asking is if they are indeed jig drilled, then I could accept a spar with
defects as long as the lower cap was intact.

 

Finding the
intergranular corrosion on an Alon spar cap makes me wonder if the part wasn't
actually made in the 40's for the original Ercoupes and carried in inventory
until it was finally installed on an Alon 2 decades later.
