hmmm -- we may be talking about two different things, as the
"Sunbrella" that my rendezvous tent is made out of, is 100% cotton
canvas, with a UV coating on the outside

you could, of course, treat it like any old ragwing airplane, and
paint it with one of the polyurethanes or enamels -- just talk
with someone who knows paint (Bent Edbensen, on the Aeronca
list, would be a good one) to get one which will not be stiff when
dry (and of course you needn't put on a very thick coat since you
are just disguising the pattern)

if I'm wrong, and this Sunbrella is acrylic, synthetic ... be sure
to line it with a soft woven 100% cotton, your windscreen
will appreciate it ...

Sunbrella is nothing more than an acrylic material. Acrylic is inherently
UV resistant, which is why it lasts so long. If you want to paint it, use
an Automotive type Acrylic Enamel paint with a flex agent in it. Should
last a long time, and will help stop cracking when you fold it up.

Hi,
Thanks for all of the great info. I did get the enough Sunbrella to make
the canopy cover but I will have to cover or paint it. A cloth cover (to
hide the floral pattern) will probably deteriorate much faster than the
Sunbrella. I would prefer to paint it as the paint may hold up better. If
anyone knows the correct type of paint to use on sunbrella please let me
know.
Thanks Again
