Dennis & Ed,
I have the same spinner on my Coupe and have had no problems in 1200 hours, although so far I've not pushed on it.

Oh, that reminds me.  I had a bullet shaped Cessna spinner on my Coupe for 22 years.  I guess itÂ’s still there.  Solid as a rock.  I pushed that plane around a lot by pushing on that spinner before I learned better (and not by breaking it).

Could work nicely for a temporary fix and looks better than no spinner at all.

Dennis.

You can fly the Coupe without a spinner. That would temporarily solve your backplate problem.
And trim wire is available from Skyport, if your local FBO does not have it. It was around $25 when I bought one a few years ago.

Hi All ,,,My plane is in the very final stages of finishing touches after a lenghty repair and paint job. While frying to free up my trim( after sitting for 8 months) my mechanic ,slash painter broke my wire.Where would be  a very fast place to get wire and  put it in 2 morrow.and I need a spinner back plate  as mine is cracked all around. This is the only thing stopping me from flying 564 to the nationals. Oh ya and paying a bunch of money for the repairs and paint. (so I won't eat at the nationals at least I flew.)When I took  the coupe to Wis  for the restoration fuel was 2.50 a gal now it's $ 3.50  or so It SUX too!!!
I'm in Ill  any quick Ideas on trim wire let me know I'm flying up in the morning  if the Stinkin rain stops.I could fly her home  if the shake down cruise is satisfactory.BTW if any of you are near 06c Schaunburg airport We are having a pig roast and picnic This sunday  come on  over I'll pick up the tab for any Couper in the area.Lotsa food and refreshments-  Don Mack see ya there OK ?? spread the coupe word   dennis- President Schaumburg Pilot's Assoc  06c  come on Joe Czaplicki come on down
