I think they call it 'attenuation of correlation.' That is, some of the worst offenders have dropped out of the statistical sample. I'm glad they did the AD because a good Ercoupe flying buddy locally had a badly deteriorated center section. If it hadn't been for the inspection, we may well have lost the pleasure of his company.
