Glen, it's most likely coming from an exhaust leak where your left exhaust stack goes into the muffler.  Check your clamps and look for cracks.  To remove the stains try fine automotive rubbing compound.

I have some yellowish staining on the paint, just behind the cowling, on the left side (near the venturi).  I tried Pledge but that does not remove it.  Does anyone know a good way to remove it?  (We are looking into where it is coming from...more to follow).
