I'm a displaced Iowan who used to live in Iowa City, just south of Cedar Rapids. I didn't find (or create) any Coupe knowledgeable mechanics around Iowa City / Cedar Rapids. If the plane he's looking at is west, toward Central Iowa, I'd recommend Randy Tarlton at the Perry airport just northwest of Des Moines. Randy did my maintenance for nine years when I lived in Des Moines. He also did my major overhaul (very well and to factory new specs), recovered my wings (beautifully!) and had restored at least one other Coupe to show quality.
