Dennis. Skyport sells the Main Landing Gear KneeJoint Rebuild kit SMK-34 for an reasonable amount of money. That kit comes with new bushings and shims and ALEMITE LUBE fittings. It includes a brief description on how to fit the fittings. In any case, you would have to take the Knee joint apart and remove the $200 pin then drill through the Landing Gear Lever and new bushing in place. The text of the work sheet in SMK-34 follows. The Ercoupe and Forney F-1 MLG knee pin had no provision for lubrication. Alemite fittings are included with the SMK-34 Kit for installation.... After insertion of the fresh-33206 lower leg bushing, drill (no.3 - 0.2130) at approx. 45 - degree angle into the leg and tru the bushing. Tap 1/4-28; be sure to remove all chips, install lube fittings. Alons had this fitting installed at tha factory.
