Finally, the cold hard jaws of winter relaxed a little today and was able
to take "The Spirit of Camp Lake" up for some much needed air time. The
temps were in the low 40s, (felt like a heat wave)and winds out of the
west
at 8 to 10 visibility was CAVU. 2250' of North South frozen turf permitted
the "Spirit" to leap into the sky. After a month or so idleness, it felt
great...These moderate cool temps are just great for Coupe performance.
Had to hold 2250/2300 rpm just to keep her under 110 IAS and climb was
pushing 650FPM. Sure didn't see that last summer.
This corner of SE WISC has not seen any snow to speak of, The fronts have
gone thru North and South of us and really nailed those of you to the
South
and East. I shouldn't be speaking too loud cause sure enough we'll get
dumped on next.
