I think it is for the same reason that people climb mountains. Never change anything and I think this would be a boring world.

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Neill,

There are at least two tail dragger Coupes.  The “Dcoupue” (N415DC) is in Wisconsin and a “Nix Baby Beach” (N97BB) is either in Alabama or Mississippi.   I have heard of a one other possible tail dragger (N5626F), but that was destroyed in an accident on 8/24/88.  I know of two projects that have been offered for sale N3616H and one fuselage only in Arizona.

But I can’t understand why anyone would want to mess-up such a good flying plane by making it a tail dragger!
