Syd,

Thanks for the Fred Weick Video. It is a wonderful insight into one of Aviation's  most admired, but often less known pioneers.

As you promised, the video gives a wonderful insight into Fred's life and experiences in developing Propellers, Efficient Engine cowlings, and of course, the history behind the Ercoupe. It is almost an oral presentation of his autobiography _ "From the Ground Up...."

I found it most interesting and entertaining. I think I was at Oshkosh in 1996, and do have pictures of Fred and Dorothy at EOC Dinners from earlier meetings. I will try to post them.

Fred's experiences and adventures are very interesting, as he goes from Langley, to Engineering Research Corporation; then to Texas A&M to develop the AG planes.  Then his work at Piper in Developing the Cherokee line of Aircraft, moved Piper from tube and fabric to all metal airplanes. Most all of the metal Pipers ( including the twins) are dervied from the Cherokee ! ---just widen the fuselage, and add another engine :).

I highly recommend the video for all Coupe owners but also for all folks interested in the development of aviation from the 1920's to modern airplanes. Here in the year of the 100th anniversary of Flight, it is intersting to recognize the Wright brothers were followed by many early aviation thnkers, such as Fred Weick in developing modern aviation.

Thanks again for a fine video to add to my collection of aviation memoribelia. It makes me appreciate my Ercoupe even more! :).
