Here's the address of a drawing of the part in question along with all of the measurements etc. http://65.64.222.169/Erco/Ercoupe-Large/A-159.jpg According to that drawing, the bottom 1/4" of the coil should be marked red. There should also be a green mark starting 5" from the bottom going up to 5 1/4" making it 1/4" wide also for any of you out there mathematically challenged like me. Oh yes, it also says to use oil resisting paint. Enjoy.
