Hi Laird; Welcome to the world of Ercoupes. There is no Chilton's manual for Coupes. The original 415-C floor board came in one piece, with another front board, which the brake pedal came through, used like a foot rest. I think the modified (I do not know whether or not it was a later version or not) floor board, which is divided in two pieces, gives easier access during annual inspections. The front (foot) board is still used with the two piece floor board.
Lynn's right about the 2-piece. One of these days, I'm going to take a band-saw to the
lovely floor and baggage compartment boards that Lynn's dad made, and cut them in
two for the sake of easier access to battery and the stuff in the belly.
They look so nice, all clear polyurethane and one piece that it's hard to get up the nerve,
except when I'm sweating bullets and/or laying on the bare innards of the fuselage...
