While visiting the Reno Pylon racing seminar in June, I got to see a Tigercat. I'm embarrassed to admit that I was only vaguely aware of this plane. What I mean is I guess I have heard of it but if you had shown me a photo and asked, "What's that?", I wouldn't have know. So it was even more impressive that my first exposure to this gorgeous creature is when I saw Michael Brown's impeccably restored beauty making a low pass over the Reno-Stead airport. And as if that wasn't breathtaking enough, the Tigercat was accompanied by race plane Sea Furies September Pops and September Fury! The Tigercat is black, September Fury, in her new paint, is red, and September Pops is blue. It was such a dazzling and startling sight and sound that I think I stopped breathing for a full minute. To think that all 3 of these planes are part of the same racing team... And all three plan to compete next month at Reno. I wish I could be there this year. Oh well. Back to work.
