----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----It is real easy to undo the canopy. I took mine out as well. All you do is put the two side windows all the way down. Then move the center piece all the way to one side. At the top of the opening there is a little plate with 2 screws. Undo the screws and remove the plate. Then slide the canopy over as if you were closing it and it will slide right out of the track.
I like flying much better with the center piece out too.
