My ALON is presently the only 'Coupe hangared at Ft Pierce, an International Airport. It gets lonely. Today, I noted a beautiful , white 415D Ercoupe parked outside the TIKI restaurant. Registration was N99490. I went into the popular and crowded TIKI restaurant and softly inquired.."...anyone here flying an Ercoupe?". No reply. Then, figuring "what the hell", I announced in a loud voice "...anyone here flying the Ercoupe with a flat tire?!!" A lot of heads were raised from their hamburgers, but no one acknowledged. Strange? I departed, but decided to leave my card on the wing adjacent to the LH cockpit entry - hope it didn't blow away. I was fully prepared to pay for their lunch - too bad.
