I am having an annual done on my C85-12F engine in N94815, equipted with
a 1B90 prop.
My IA has reviewed the Type certificate and discovered a problem. On
page 2 of the
document in the "other equipment" area it shows note 1 as the only
approved propeller for the 415E
aircraft using the C85. Note 1 list a wooden prop which is no longer
available.
N94815 has been inspected and certified as airworthy with this 1B90
propeller for over 20 years.
I called Univair and notified them of the problem. The type certificate
in the area of other equipment
should have read 1 thru 8 or listed note 1,4. Has anyone else had a
similar problem.
The type certificate contridicts itself. Note 1 says a wooden prop and
note 4 list 415E as
OK to have a 1B90 prop.
I am attempting to contact the DER for Univair to see if he has a
solution. Will inform
all of what I find out.
If anyone has any information on this issue, please share it with me.
