Sounds good, Dave.  Let's see how big a group we get.

Wow

This sounds really good to me…assuming I have my plane out of the shop by then.

(If you wanted to stop at Outlaw Field in Clarksville, TN rather than at Tullahoma, I could probably put a couple of folks up at my place for free.)

Add me to your list of "possibly able to go with".  I would join you leaving Tullahoma, TN on Sat, Apr 1st.

Looking at the route, I'd make just a few notes:
  1. KTHA -> KRMG =  82nm @ 142 deg
  2. KRMG -> KCXU = 194nm @ 170 deg
    Stay below 4000' while under Atlanta's airspace
  3. KCXU -> KISM = 228nm @ 144 deg
    Stay above 3200' until well past Walt Disney World
  4. KISM -> KLAL =  36nm @ 246 deg
  5. I believe you'll need a transponder while near Atlanta and Orlando unless you make prior arrangements.
I have a transponder and I'm familiar with the Atlanta airspace, so no problems for me.  However, I would like to make a fuel stop at KCGC.  If we could do that, it would be great.

PLUS, that Sat morning (Apr 1), KBGF (Winchester Airport) will be having its EAA Breakfast Fly-In.  It is only a few miles from Tullahoma and is on the way.  It'd be a great way to get breakfast for the day!

If we did, then the last legs would be:
  1. KTHA -> KBGF =  15 nm @ 148 deg
    EAA Breafast Fly-In
  2. KBGF -> KRMG =  67 nm @ 141 deg
  3. KRMG -> KCXU = 194 nm @ 170 deg
    Stay below 4000' while under Atlanta's airspace
  4. KCXU -> KCGC = 165 nm @ 152 deg
  5. KCGC -> KISM =  69 nm @ 125 deg
    Stay above 3200' until well past Walt Disney World
  6. KISM -> KLAL =  36 nm @ 246 deg
Please let me know if I'm wrong about any of this.

Thinking about going to Sun N' Fun?

Why not fly in as a group?

Make your plans now!

I'm planning to leave Wausau, WI on the morning of Friday, March 31,
with a fuel stop in Aurora, IL, lunch & fuel in Owensboro, KY,
and overnight in Tullahoma, TN, weather permitting.

We leave Tullahoma Saturday, April 1 and stop for fuel in Rome, GA,
stop for lunch & fuel in Camilla, GA, and arrive in Kissimmee, FL for overnight.

Sunday we'll tour the Kissimmee Air Museum and fly to the
Fantasy of Flight Museum near Polk City and tour the Museum,
and then fly to Sun N' Fun as a group!.

If we land together we can park together.

Join us anywhere along the way.
Call my cell phone at 715-573-7063
to find out where we are.

Syd
