Hmmm... I think I'm being misunderstood here.

I didn't say I "don't mind your numerous postings," I said I WELCOME them.

Now there's a difference there, subtle perhaps, but to anyone with an IQ over about 75 I would think fairly distinct.

Is it possible that maybe...just...maybe...the Wonderfully Sage, Eminently Knowledgeable, Regulars on this forum might just  -- now follow me closely here because this gets a little complicated  --- might just.,...l.e.a.r.n s.o.m.e.t.h.i.n.g. from one of these "new Coupers?"

Golly, I know that's a VERY unusual approach to our forum.  and quite unsettling because We Have Things The Way They Ought To Be, and that's that!

How do you know this woman isn't an astronaut? Or a high-time jet jock with more hours crawling out of the Officer's Club Bar  on her hands and knees than you had sitting on your diydie being toilet trained? Or who was herding piles junk around the sky when you were sucking your pink toes?

Well, that as may be, I really want to be accepted here into this august group, so I respectfully request that you all please bear with me.   I'm trying my hardest to acquire the same arrogant, supercilious condescension that we've shown to Susan so far.

I promise eventually to reach the level of world-class putz, but it takes awhile to get really good at it.  Never fear, though, a few more lessons and I'll be slammin' these newcomers right along with the best of us.

Reading back over my remarks, I suspect I don't fit in here as well as I should and I humbly apologise for that lack of seamlessness, but - silly me! - I have this foolish old notion about learning from others that I just can't seem to get rid of. That's how I learned to fly, from others. That's how I stay alive in the air, learning from others.

So if my idea -- that instead of being Dispensers Of Wisdom we might actually learn from a new arrival -- is too radical , then please just put it down to my own ignorance and naiveté.  I always figured part of being a pilot was sharing with other pilots, but...nah, stupid idea. Forget I mentioned it.

Thanks from my heart for your kind help and continuing patience in this matter.

Susan.

I'm sure you have only the best of intensions at heart with your numerous

postings.  None the less, your wish to share them with the world is not

appreciated by many.  I would suggest that you set up a website of your own

with what you feel is pertinant information, so those wishing to be informed

with that which you feel is important can check your site at will. As nice

as it is to have new coupers show up, by the same token it would be

considered polite to observe and learn for at least a reasonable time to see

the slant of things being discussed by the long term members.  Though some

have commented that they don't mind your numerous postings, many, including

myself, feel they are an imposition on the general Ercoupe talk.  It's like

going to visit someone for the first time and monopolizing the conversation.

It's just not done!  As I said, I would suggest that subjects other than

coupes, be on a different site.  Most of us aren't snobs or sexist, we just

want to ramble on about our favorite planes.  Hope you take this as

constructive, as that is how it's meant.  .............Jon Page.......Flak

Don,

How very little you know me.  I'd already agreed to to do this exact

thing ("digest mode") in the future as soon as I read the responses.

Methinks you project onto others too much your own intransigence to

compromise, without ever making an attempt to get to know them as

individuals.  I personally am always willing to learn and grow and

improve, and I am open to reasonable suggestions on just how to do

this.
