Nothing.

If you have a private pilot license, when your medical lapses you can still fly with the privileges of a sport pilot. In fact, you can fly with the privileges of a sport pilot with all the extra endorsements they need for controlled airspace, etc.

Provided your medical has not been denied, you fly a sport pilot eligible plane, and you follow the sport pilot rules (e.g., daytime only, 3 miles visibility, etc.).
