I just received the following official-looking but criminally-faked email.
I went to the official PayPal website and checked to ensure that there was no recent activity, and then I forwarded the email to PayPal's Security Center <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> so they can be aware of this latest round of criminal activity and do their best to stop them.
I sent it with the long headers and raw source info cut and pasted below the original email - depending on your email program, this will usually be found under "View" then "Message" then click "Raw Source" or "Long Headers" (or in Qualcomm's Eudora Mail it will be "Blah Blah Blah" along the toolbar) and cut and paste the info below the criminal email you are forwarding to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> - I have cut-and-pasted the raw source info below the criminal email below so you will be able to see what Raw Source looks like.
If anyone gets an email like this, please do not respond directly to the email.
Clicking any of the links takes you directly to the criminal who is sending this out, and they will ask you for your registered PayPal name and password to enable them to begin charging things to your account and to steal your information and money - this is a form of identity theft, and it is a very expensive and difficult type of theft to recover from.
Please pass the word on to others, for their protection and to help PayPal stop these criminals (remember - send it to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> so their Security people can go after these criminals and stop them).
