That may be true today, but if it continues to be the case going forward then the movement is already doomed. You are completely ignoring the pilots who enter the system as LSA pilots as opposed to atrophying down. You're also ignoring the relaxed maintenance and certification requirements for LSA aircraft.
If LSA is dependent on old, broken private pilots for success, then we should start digging the grave now.
