----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----
I'm at a loss, so I'm hoping someone out there can help with a creative
suggestion or two.
Linda Abrams is in the process of purchasing an Ercoupe here in SoCal.
She would like suggestions for something to block the UV light from
the cockpit of her soon to be Ercoupe. Are there any anti-UV-coatings
for the canopy (Plexiglas / plastic windows)? Can someone help
out with some creative ideas to stop or minimize the UV rays coming through the
canopy & windows?
I've made the usual suggestions for UV A & B sunglasses, a UV
blocking log sleeve shirt & hat, sun block, a center sunshade between
the two sliding windows in the canopy, and flying lower to reduce the UV rays,
but that's all I can offer Linda. Any other creative ideas
about how to block UV from the cockpit of an Ercoupe?
Is there a coating or type of window material that allows visible
light to pass but blocks some significant % of the UV light???? (I
sure don't know of anything.)
Thanks in advance !
