Hello out there in Ercoupe Land.

I'm not an Ercoupe owner but I'd like to be one and I'm hoping to change
this unfortunate situation. However, my desires are somewhat picky. You see,
my deceased father was once a partner in an Ercoupe in the late 1940's and
sold his interest in 1950 or 1951. I am trying to find his old Ercoupe, if
it still exists but I've run up against a stump. I've checked with the FAA
and they say they cannot help me without an "N" or serial number. This is
why I'm turning to the Ercoupers Online Community. I'm hoping someone can
find a reference to my Dad in one of those precious old log books from the
time period of 1948 to 1951 that has been kept all these years. Here are
Dad's vitals:

Name: Lee Rhodes Hopkins (now deceased)

Airman Certificate No: 1205846

Location of Ercoupe while owned by Dad: La Junta, Colorado

Date of Birth: July 7, 1914

Place of Birth: Atoka, OK

One more thing about my Dad that may be helpful. He was employed by the CAA
(later the FAA). While he lived in La Junta, Colorado, he was the Chief of
the Flight Service Station at the little La Junta Airport. At his
retirement, he was an Assistant Chief of the Seattle-Tacoma Airport FSS.

I sure would appreciate any information someone could dig up for me.
Certainly his Ercoupe would have been one of the 415C through G models.

Thanks for anything you can do.

Jim Hopkins
