Hmm. I think this computer has been running without a crash since about 6
months after I started Skyport.

A couple of times I decided to reboot only because a non-Microsoft
application decided to hose things up. After I got it to close everything
appeared to be OK, but I rebooted anyhow to be safe.

Now I use Outlook, a technically inferior application, but it doesn't hose
up the system.

Why would Apple want to be able to boot up in Windows? ;)

Even as I type this, I expect my computer to (again)"crash" with the error
message "Windows will now shut down. It is MSNs fault.

I purchased and used various low-end PCs over the past 10 years, e.g.,
COMPPAQ, DELL, e-SYSTEMS. I have had troubles with WIN 95, WIN 98 and WIN
XP. Even as I type this, I expect my computer to (again)"crash" with the
error message "Windows will now shut down. It is MSNs fault. We have no
current solution for the problem". I have cleaned out all misc, files and
folders, and I have plenty of memory. Sure, my inexpertise could be a
factor. However, the plethora of pro -MAC inputs on this site have me
leaning to buying a MAC rather than "upgrading " to VISTA. One lengthy and
interesting input (Off-Line) from our Coupe Guru William Bayne is
particularly succinct; starts with>>>Hi Don, Get a Mac! Be years ahead of
features not yet copied by Microsoft from Apple, and you can boot in
WINDOWS...<<<. I don't have his permission to reproduces his e-mail, but
have forwarded it (Off Line) to Ed Burkhead, another of Bill's friend. It is
reassuring that Bill still follows our Couper sites. BTW, another continuing
computer problem over the years was with NORTON/SYMANTEC - increasingly
expensive; nonresponsive, absolutely impossible to deal with them! Upon
advice from a local repair shop I switched to AVG FREE six months ago and
have had no virus or related problems since. Don Bowen
