Well, I can tell you my next PC will be a MAC.
I have three daughters, two of them have PC's and despite having extended
service contracts and the computers being 2 years old or less, they have
constant crashes and have to back up everything on CD's to make sure they don't
lose it. They both have had new hard drives put in rather than attempt to clean
them up outside of the service centers. Reformatting everything once a year
seems standard procedure.
My other daughter, the messy one, has had a top of the line MAC for four and a
half years. She is a professional fashion photographer and has all kinds of
photographic equipment and printers hooked up to it, runs beta versions of
state of the art photfinish software, has several external hard drives full of
valuable work and despite being very careless, she has yet to have the
slightest snag with the computer. She does not know what a crash is and has
never seen "the blue screen" or the box that sends the problem report to
Microsoft.
I usually go with word of mouth advice rather than listen to the commercials.
If you do, you will notice that most of them try to dispell the main problem
with their product through advetising rather than invest the money to fix it.
