Hi Eliacim,
Glad to hear that you are considering the flight. The plan is to
depart Wausau (weather permitting) about 9 am on Sunday, July 27 and
head for Waupaca, WI (KPCZ) where we'll stop and restage. We'll wait
there for other Ercoupes that couldn't make it to the Convention in
Wausau and depart at 11 am. We'll fly in trail, spacing about 500'
apart, head for Ripon, WI, which we overfly, then follow the railroad
tracks to Oshkosh. We'll stay in trail the entire way, and land in
trail, and park together in the Type Club Parking area. 40 parking
sites are reserved for us.
Between Wausau and Ripon we'll be able to communicate with each
other on 122.75, except when we're approaching Waupaca. During that
time we'll use their Common Traffic Advisory Frequency. When we
approach Ripon we'll tune to Oshkosh ATIS and then to the Fisk Approach
frequency, and won't be able to talk with each other again until after
we land. I'll give a detailed briefing at Wausau before we leave there,
and another one for any new people at Waupaca before we leave there.
I just posted the 2005 Oshkosh Report (that I sent to Coupe Capers
in 2005) at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ercoupe-tech/files/ so
everyone can read it. As Dennis says, we always have a lot of fun doing
this, and after we land we always get folks stopping by, complimenting
us on our planes and on our group arrival.

I am thinking about the group flight to Oskosh....
What is the date and aprox time of day you are thinking of doing it?
Is it all the way from Wausau to Oskosh, or will you stop at a closer
airport to do the final staging?
Have you written a post anywhere describing the experience?
I am just giving myself enough time to think about it, and getting over
the aprehension...
Perhaps other reluctant candidates could also be persuaded to join...
Thanks
Eliacim
