Thanks for the pictures!

That first aircraft is no longer airworthy and had it's cert revoked.  A Google 
search indicated it was involved in a fatal.

  I am passing on a scan that the previous owner of my Ercoupe sent me 
  of page 113 from the book "Grand Central Air Terminal (CA) (Images of 
  Aviation)" by John Underwood. I am told it is the only page in the 
  book that pictures the Ercoupe. I found the photos and captions very 
  interesting, especially since my Ercoupe was one of the thousand that 
  was assembled and distributed by Grand Central Aircraft.

  I will also upload the photo to the Photos section of the Yahoo! 
  Group for those who do not receive attachments.
