Bart & Paul, thank you! That helped! Frank: I was apprehensive about flying into even medium-large gatherings, but flying to my first couple in a group with other SoCal 'Coupers helped a *lot*. For one thing, Gary Dalluge (who usually leads) knows exactly where the airports are -- he's been flying 40+ yrs. Also, on approach he would talk for the whole group (e.g. requesting landing for "a flight of 5 Ercoupes"). So that is two less things I had to do. W Dan Hall did the same for me when I was just solo following him up to WA last summer. There were the odd issues on departures (I'll explain more when I see you), such as when everyone else was departing Special VFR which you & I flying Sport Pilot won't be doing, but just having the group around to explain the air show procedures made me feel a lot less insecure.
