Did anybody read General Aviation News for May 9, page 11?

An article titled "White House threatens to veto Senate FAA bill" clearly
states that the White House threatened to veto the last Senate FAA bill
because it did not have user fees!!!

The skyrocketing costs of fuel and everything else are already threatening our
ability to afford flying. The imposition of user fees will further threaten the
affordability of flying, and eventually we will be priced out of it. Sure it
will start small. The initial fees may not look threatening to us. But the most
dangerous part of it is giving the ability to the FAA to create more user fees
as they deem necessary. We all know what the FAA is capable of, and how
senseless it can be. Do we all want them to be able to create new user fees?
Won't that be like releasing sharks in a water park?

I am not talking partisan politics here. I beg you all to support General
Aviation, regardless of your political beliefs. All GA pilots, be them
Republican, Democrat, Conservatives, Libertarian or Liberal need to be united
in rejecting this Administration's reckless insistence in imposing aviation
user fees.

I guess we need to stay tuned to AOPA and EAA, as they surely have staff
monitoring this and planning a reaction at the most appropriate time.

Thanks for bearing with me
