Larry and All,

Most of my flying has been local, from Parker County (KWEA) to Granbury (KDGJ)
and back. I went to Houston-Williams to meet Alan Fairclough, who helped me
with an oil leak after I brought the airplane home from Arlington, WA. I have
been to Abilene a couple times-- took my daughter for $100 Chinese food at her
favorite oriental restaurant after school one evening. I flew to Midland-Sky
West to take one of my best freinds for his first ride in a small airplane. We
would have stayed up longer, but the winds and turbulence below 3000' were
really bad that day. I have another good friend who lives near downtown
Dallas, and I often help him work on his classic '79 Mercedes 450SL. Rather
than fighting traffic, I've been flying to Dallas Executive (KRBD)and having
him pick me up. My A&P, Vince Hammons, and I have been doing some formation
flying between KWEA, KGDJ, and Ft Worth-Spinks (KFWS). Vince used to work at
EAA, so when the EAA B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" came to the DFW area on it's
nationwide tour, Vince and I flew in formation to KGKY (Arlington Muni) to show
my daughter the airplane (that is only 2 years older than our 'coupe!).

Right now, were down for a center-section swap-out that has turned into a major
restoration-- one of those "might as well" things. We've got it apart, so we
might as well do some other things...

I've logged 50 flights since I purchased it in August and since we went into
heavy maintenance in early November.

We should be up again in March. I want to go back to Houston, up to Kentucky
with Vince to see family and friends we have in the Lexington and Elizabethtown
area, down to Ft. Walton Beach, Tampa, and Fort Myers to see a good friend, see
my step-brother, and see my Mom. Finally, there's the Ercoupe National and
Oshkosh. Don't know if I will get it all in next year, but those are the trips
I'm planning.

Later,
Dave
