Thanks for the compliment Syd and likewise, I always thought you were too young to retire too...how long has it been now, 1 or 2 years? :-). I just figured you won the lottery and retired early. Actually, in April, I celebrated my 60th birthday. Donna on the other hand is only 56 in 6 weeks. We'd like to know all our options before I reach 62.
Well, the salt issue is definitely a consideration, but Wisconsin is way too cold in the winter. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Syd Cohen" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, August 20, 2010 3:07:38 PM Subject: Re: [ercoupe-flyin] florida retirement? Retirement? What? You two are just kids! Seriously, I'd be fearful of corrosion caused by salt in the air and in the rain in Florida. Every time I return from Sun & Fun I find salt deposits on my plane and rust on the steel bolt heads. That never happens here in Wisconsin. Of course, a nice grass airstrip in the vicinity would be nice too. We don't know all the pros and cons of such a move, but let's start with a hangared home for the Ercoupe first and a house budget of $150,000. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
