Thanks for all the advice on setting the e-gap- very good stuff. Here's my only confusion---- when an A&P showed me how to do it he said the neutral point was the "ridge" where the mag wanted to drop off either side (by feel) or where the magnet wanted to "pull" equally in each direction. Simple enough and easy to feel. Now that I am home and have had a chance to play with the mags (kind of like Coupe foreplay) I haven't quite seen it to be so straightforward. With my mags it feels more like a camel back instead of a ridge. As I very very slowly turn the gear I can feel it go up over the first hump and then kind of "click" into a little trough and then up the next hump (which feels smaller) and then back down the other side. For some reason it feels like the magnet is not pulling in the center hump. Normally I would be inclinded (NPI) to say the center "indent"/flat/trough section is the neutral point but one of the humps definitely feels larger/taller than the other and feels to be the "primary" hump. This coupled with what the A&P told me has me uncertain. The trough feels like gear lash to me so if the neutral point is indeed right at the bottom of a gear tooth then this would make sense as to why there's a distinct clicking feel. Then again it could also me cause by the way the cam rides on the points- maybe this is what's causing the irregular motion. What do you all think...do I go primary hump, secondary hump, or inner-hump or am I just totally humped up altogether? Thanks! Stan _____ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
