With all the talk about corrosion, especially in the carry-through spar section, does anyone think that there might be enough interest in developing an STC to replace the spar? If we are to continue to keep these old birds airworthy, we need to take a pro-active approach. I'm sure that there would be some development cost, structural load analysis and such. At work, we have an outside DER review all of our structural modifications. Is it worth starting a dialog with him? Feed back, anybody? Coupers. I sent this last night to the coupers-tech list. I think it is interesting for every one. So here my posting again. Hartmut -------- Original Message -------- From: Hartmut <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: C-section & corrosion. To: Coupers Tech <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Coupers. I finally opened up the center section to remove the corrosion we found today. To avoid the data congestion, I prepared a little page with six images to look at . Check it out and learn from the tragedies of others. grin http://home.pacbell.net/hbeil/ercoupe/corrosion.htm Hartmut ========================================================================== == == To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm ========================================================================== ==== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
