Coupers: I talked to Lee yesterday. He was as surprised as the rest
of
us that the business was sold. However, the aviation business has not been
good this last year, so it does not surprise me.
The good news is that Lee still has a job with American Champion
Aircraft.
The new owner of Skyport is a Couper. I believe his last name is
Bass.
Lee said that he had other business interests, one of which is making
balsa
model airplane kits. I think the new owner lives in Wisconsin, so the
business is not moving very far, and it should be open in a couple days.
Lee
seems to think that there is going to be a period where he will be
providing
advice (if requested) for the new owner. Everything was purchased,
including
Lee's notes, and computer work. Since the new owner is a fellow Coupe
owner,
he will most likely understand many of the problems we have/face.
Hopefully this will be a positive change. Having the business stay
available to us is a positive thing.
