If anyone is interested, I have located a source for the boots that are on the control universal joints. I found them at MSC industrial Supply, part number 35408301 and cost $18 and change for a pair with fasteners. They are made by LoveJoy and are the same boot that comes on a MS20271 universal joint. The replacements are held on with the provided tie wrap instead of the brass ring on the factory version. The brass rings are machine crimped on and beyond the capability of most of us. If the joints are in good shape but the boots are cracked apart, these boots and a bit of grease will make them last for another bunch of years. MSC has an on line catalog, I ordered the parts on Wednesday and received them on Friday. Unlike Grainger (who also carries the boots) they will gladly deal with a private party.
