Based on the letter that Harry produced for us, I can conlude that, if
there
is spar corrosion, I can have my A&P manufacture the part, provided we can

do proper quality control (i.e. original blueprint info).... I have no
idea
yet if there is any corrosion on my plane, nor do I know what part or how
much a replacement part (if req'd) would cost, I am just doing some
research..

Thanks all,

Matt

"If a mechanic manufactured parts (e.g., wing ribs) for
an owner, associated with a repair, would manufacture of the parts be
considered maintenance or production of a part by the owner?

Answer: It could be one or the other; in neither case, however, would
there necessarily be an FAR violation. If it was concluded that the
owner participated in controlling the design, manufacture, or quality of
the
part, he would be a producer, and the exception in FAR 21.303(b)(2)would
apply"
