To all the folks who offerred advice, it is greatly appreciated. With the knowledge gained, and a conversation with a local Avionics man, we have now ruled out the alternator, and suspect the mag or mags. The reason is, the noise in the transmitter which occurs at high rpm is accompanied by a distinct background "clicking" sound. According to everyone I talk to, that means the noise in the radio is coming from the mags. However, no one has suggested what to do about it, besides live with it. I looked at the harnesses, they are recent, blue, labeled "skytronics". Maybe they are just the old el-cheapos. Any thoughts?
