What clever ideas do you all have for attaching the floor carpet? I'm
getting tired of it being wrinkled under my feet. The carpet currently goes across the floor and up the sides underneath the side panels and also goes up the front portion and covers the wood (on the firewall).
I'd find a way to get rid of it entirely. It is heavy, it holds moisture (see my
comments regarding that and SB31), and it seems to turn the Koop into
a bucket for collecting dirt and bits of grass and leaves. N99387 looks
quite nice with a coat of polyurethane varnish over nicely prepped
floorboards.
Perhaps strips of Velcro? Maybe just a few strips/lines of glue (like silicon calk or maybe hot glue) that would have to be reapplied when the carpet was pulled up? Mechanical fasteners? What's commonly used?
If you must, I'd use self-adhesive Velcro on the plane, sew-on Velcro on the carpet.
Use the big wide stuff on both sides so you don't have to be real precise...the hooks
and eyes will match up somehow. And the carpet will shrink and shift size, so you'll
need to be able to adjust. Don't be surprised if the adhesive on the Velcro is weaker
than the strength of the Velcro, and you have supplement the Velcro glue.
