----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----Paul; I use a pair of bar clamps from Home Depot that are about two feet long with a screw handle on one end and the other end adjustable for length along the bar. I have a short piece of square tubing about 3/4 inch square which fits in the small end of the stack and use a piece of 1/8 inch thick 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 angle about 6 inches long to put across the top of the bell housing. Once adjusted for the proper length, it is relatively easy to compress the stack and remove/replace the snap ring.
