Patrick: A lot depends on how long you are anticipating having the wings off. If you are only doing it for the inspection, and so not expect any corrosion, the wings will only be off the airplane for a couple of hours. I use a couple cardboard boxes and just slide the wings outboard a couple feet to allow me room to do the inspection. I also have a sawhorse set up with a piece of carpet that will allow me to take the wing off and put it back on by my self. When you control the tip, you can pretty much do it all by yourself if you have a wing support that is just a little short of touching the wing when it is bolted in place.
    If you expect to have the wings off for several days, then you should prepare a place to put them prior to removal. Also consider protecting them from getting undesirables inside, such as mice etc.
