Hi all
When I brought my Mooney Cadet from the UK to Virginia I just switched the panel mounted GPS on and left it to find out where it was, it did so in about thirty minutes.
Similar when I brought my Alon A2A to Seattle with the same panel mounted Apollo GPS, giving it an idea where it is helps but I wasn't in a hurry for it to sort itself out, in fact I was a little curious to see just how long it would take. Not bad for something like 6,000 nm from the UK to Seattle.
Now all I need is someone to buy the Alon as I intend hanging up my headset. A good pal of mine from my commercial aviation days said to me recently, "You have done so much over the years in flying that you should be happy with all you have done and so long as you feel you still don't have any more challenges, look back on those years and flights completed with pleasure"
Glad I do feel that way and over forty years of Aircoupe flying has been great and rewarding. "Thank you Fred"
