Hi Wayne!
My parts book shows that:
    A C85-8 or C75-8 with a tapered crankshaft use a 530641 gear
    A C85-12 or C75-12 with a tapered crank uses a 35016 gear cluster
The book shows no tapered crank is used in the C-90 engine
    C75-8F, C85-8F, C90-8F with a flanged crank use a 630641 gear
Note the -8 means that this engine has no provision for starter or generator
    The -12, -14, -16 versions of the C75, C85, C90 all use the 35016 gear cluster
The picture in the book shows a cluster of 2 gears( timing gear & starter gear I presume)
Soooo... I guess if the engine that your gear is from, has provisions for a starter,
it will fit the C90-16F.
The -16 means that this engine has provision for starter, generator&
vacume pump.
Also note, the F at the end of  C90-16F means Flanged Crankshaft
Hope this helps!

Does anyone on the list have access to a Continental Parts Manual(s) that covers the C-75, 85, 90 series of engines? I just picked up a used crankshaft gear, and the seller said that the C-75, 85 and 90 all use the same Part Number gear.  Can anyone confirm this?  In particular, is the crankshaft gear on a C-85 the same one used on a C-90-16F? Thanks! Wayne DelRossiAlon N5618F
