Well, it looks like in spite of putting out 16V full-fielded,
and in spite of a new voltage regulator, and in spite of
cleaning up some lossy connections, N99387's alternator
may be folding up under significant load.

It's one of those conversions...a Ford alternator with a
drive gear and bolted to a special casting. Though I don't
have the original STC paperwork, I don't know that there
are that many variants for the O-200.

Does anybody know where to send such a thing to get
tested/rebuilt? Or is my best (and legal) bet an automotive
electrical shop, seeing as it is an automotive part. I'd
even do a quality exchange...the alternator is not THAT
critical on a VFR airplane.
