I am curious as to the design and shape of any other original overflow tubes that may have been replaced, and as to whether mine was Ercoupe factory original or not. Any thoughts welcomed.
Well, you invited, Roger.
The fuel system of the Ercoupe has been a plumber's nightmare ever since the beginning. Remember, the Cubs and T-crafts
were from the wing tank(s) straight to the gascolator, with maybe a shut-off valve in between. Bottom line = the ginny-jicking
around on the `coupe caused appoplexy in the field! Hince, all the various installations/tube diameters/material variances we
see on our planes.
I'm in the middle of such a work-through myself, due to tank rot. My A&P will guide me, and I will make sure there are no
saggs or bad materials used. Wish Me Luck!
Percy
