Ralph.
I investigated the issue ones and found that the difference in these pumps
are in the spring used inside, creating a different
pressure when pumping. The C90 is running slower than the C85 but is using
more gas at the same time.
This is compensated by a higher pressure produced by the pump. Same is
true
for the C75 - running slower , need more volume pumped.
But in a Coupe this is all just theoretical mumble , since the outlet on
the
pump is restricted anyway.

The type certificate lists for a C90-16F engine the continental pump P/N/
631391, or AC Pump P/N 5656861 only.
I don't see why there would be a difference between a pump for a C90-12
and
a C90-16, but it may be that this pump is having a different arm as some
report.
The Tc lists all other pumps as eligible for all other engines.

So what is different about a C90-16F. I always thought it's the engine
mount
and nothing else...

Someone enlighten me.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Fuel pump replacement

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any
advice in this forum.]----

Alon Aircoupe with Continental C-90-16F engine.

The fuel pump quit, evidenced by the header tank fuel gage dropping even
though there was fuel in the wing tanks. So with a mechanic's help I got
an
overhauled fuel pump, Aero Accessories Part Number 9051, from Sacramento
Sky
Ranch, installed and it seems to work fine.

However, the mechanic called and said we need to check that it is indeed
the
correct fuel pump. At their web site
http://www.aeroaccessories.com/fuelpumps/continentalappguide.html it
clearly
says that the proper fuel pump for my engine is P/N 6861 for the rebuilt.
What's the difference? The PSI rating seems to be the same. I'm going
to
call them tomorrow to see what they say, but in the meantime wanted to
check
the EOC wisdom.
