P.S.   One more thing.  I worked in ATC for 38 years.  It is not at all
uncommon for ATC transmitter blind spots to exist on an airport.
Sometimes
it affects all aircraft and sometimes just certain ones.  As you said,
usually just repositioning a hundred feet or so would give the aircraft
communications again.  So I doubt if it is your radio.  Probably a tower
transmitter location issue.   Roger
