With the o-rings you use aircraft hydraulic fluid. If you have the cups
then
use automotive brake fluid. The hydraulic fluid will dissolve them.

I have rebuilt the MLG struts -- doughnuts & "O" rings and am ready to
re-install them. Sometime back there was a discussion on this list
regarding using a different strut oil.  I have not been able to locate the
thread. Was it 90 weight gear lube? Automatic transmission fluid? Drill a
larger hole for heavy weight oil? I have all of the above bits of
information in my head. Which is correct?
