I think a lot of us have gone nuts with the issue of too-tight-too-loose on the fuel caps. They're designed to be hard to get ahold of. A while back, I bought a can of FuelLube (the gasoline-proof grease used for primers and fuel valves). Every so often, when I'm adding TCP after fueling, I lube the gaskets with a bit of FuelLube. I used to just give them a dollop of gas, but that doesn't really last. Nor did WD40. A light coating of FuelLube keeps them well-sealed and easily removed for some weeks.
