Roger: There are two types of Nose wheel steering on the Coupes. The original rod is only adjustable on the end under the control mast. It is a tough one to adjust, because it requires removing the floor board/s, carefully lining up the nose wheel with the tail, then removing the bolt that holds the steering rod to the bottom of the control mast and shortening/lengthening the control rod to align the nose wheel and putting it all back together.  This process is even more difficult than it sounds because in order to remove the bolt one has to turn the control wheel to its full left or right (I do not remember which way) in order to get room to remove the bolt. So you move all the controls ( I end up doing it several times) in order to gain access to the nose steering rod end.
The other type is the late Forney/Alon/Mooney style that has a larger rod and is adjustable at the nose gear end like Walt mentioned. There was an old Service Memorandum which recommended that all the steering rods be changed to the new type, but there are many Coupes out there that never had the change made.
